*Limites Spots & Flexible Enrollment
To ensure a high-quality experience, class sizes are intentionally kept small. We encourage families to sign up early to secure a spot! If a session does not fill, we will offer individual class sign-ups so families can join as their schedule allows.
Hiking Readiness
Our adventures take us through woods, hills, and natural trails, sometimes covering distances of 1-2 miles per class. To ensure a positive experience, children should:
Be comfortable walking this distance on uneven terrain.
Have Sturdy, weather-appropriate footwear.
Be prepared to carry their own small backpack with essentials like water and a snack.
If you're unsure whether your child is ready, we encourage starting with a shorter, family-friendly hike before signing up!
Be Prepared for the elements!
Oak Explorers Club will be outside in all kinds of weather, so proper gear is essential! Children should come dressed for the season with sturdy hiking shoes or boots, weather-appropriate layers, and rain or snow gear when needed. Check out our Gear Guide for recommended clothing and essentials. A small backpack with a water bottle and a healthy snack is also recommended. Learning in nature means embracing the elements, and we'll be exploring rain or shine!
What to Bring
To make the most of each adventure, explorers should come prepared! Please send your child with:
Sturdy, weather-appropriate clothing (layers for warmth, rain gear if needed)
Closed-toe shoes or boots for hiking and exploring
A small backpack to carry their own water and snack
Why Outdoor Exploration?
Exploring nature isn't just about fresh air -it's about building confidence, resilience, and a sense of wonder. When kids hike, climb, and navigate trails on their own, they learn problem-solving, teamwork, and a deep respect for the natural world. Explorer's Club adventurers go beyond just playing outside-they develop skills that will serve them for life!
